Art: Satre Suelke's CET photography
Satre Stuelke is a New York photographer. He makes weird photographs of strange objects in brightly coloured settings. Again, I don't really care that much about photography, since it isn't my deal. Again, I really care about photography when it's doing something unusual and totally amazing.

On Radiology Art there's a collection of photographs he did in 2007. See, the thing with Stuelke is that he's also a medical student. When he was introduced to CET scanning, and he used that technology to take photoscans of objects and toys. You've no idea how cool they are.

Machine used, according to the Radiology Art about page: "an older four-slice CT scanner that is used for research. Most scan parameters include a 120kV tube voltage, 100mA current, 0.625mm slice thickness and interval, 1:1 pitch, 1.25mm beam collimation, and a speed of 1.25mm/rotation. The resulting DICOM images are then processed in Osirix software on a Macintosh iMac computer. Colors are assigned based on the varying densities of materials present throughout the object. Depending on the spread of densities within a particular subject, black or white backgrounds are chosen. Images are further processed in Adobe Photoshop for proper contrast and balance."

Cool.
